T.L. Hanna defeated Mauldin 1-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
The pitching was strong on both sides. T.L. Hanna pitchers struck out ten, while Mauldin pitchers sat down nine.
In the second inning, T.L. Hanna got their offense started. Alston Dove grounded out, scoring one run.
A single by Connor Dugan in the third inning was a positive for Mauldin.
Luke Johnson led the T.L. Hanna to victory on the hill. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on three hits over six innings, striking out nine and walking one. Carson Bacheller threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Bacheller recorded the last three outs to earn the save for T.L. Hanna .
Cole Davis took the loss for Mauldin. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out five.
Dove went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead T.L. Hanna in hits.
Mauldin didn’t commit a single error in the field. Mason Roddy had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
